Tibi produces and lends talking books, e-books, and braille books. We offer books for both children and adults. Our service also includes course materials for students at universities, university colleges, and vocational schools.
Talking books
Tibi offers talking books in all genres for children, young people, and adults. Listen to the books digitally or receive a CD by mail. You can borrow both fiction, non-fiction, and course materials. As a Tibi borrower, you have access to thousands of talking books.
Braille
Tibi offers a wide selection of braille books for children, young people, and adults. We have books in all genres, which we send as booklets by mail. If we don’t have the book you’re looking for in braille, we’ll create it for you.
You can also borrow braille sheet music.
E-books
You can borrow course materials, fiction, and non-fiction as e-books from us. We offer a large selection of e-book titles and continuously produce new ones. Most new books are produced as both e-books and talking books, with the e-book often being available before the talking book.
Course materials
Students with visual or reading disabilities can borrow accessible course materials from Tibi. The service is public and available for students in higher education.
Tibi provides course books that are not commercially available as universally designed e-books.
Tactile books
A tactile book features raised images. Most include both braille and printed text.
Tibi has a rich collection of tactile books, with images created using various materials and techniques.
These books are designed for blind and visually impaired children, but can also benefit children with other disabilities.
Newspapers and periodicals
We offer audio editions of Aftenposten, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad, and Klassekampen. You can also subscribe to journals and periodicals in audio format.
Our apps
The Tibi app
With our app, you can easily browse, borrow, and listen to books. Stream or download talking books as you prefer.
As a Tibi user, you have access to thousands of talking books and e-books through the Tibi app. Simply log in with your borrower number and PIN.
Tibi junior
The app is designed for children aged 8 to 12 with dyslexia or other reading difficulties. It offers reading support and includes fun game elements to motivate reading.
Tibi junior is available for children who are Tibi borrowers. It’s free to use, and you can log in with your borrower number and PIN.
